Spacious Ensuite in C18 House Sandal/Wakefield
Spacious en-suite in 18th Century listed house. Laurel Bank is one of the oldest properties in Sandal, and we offer a warm welcome to guests., with tea and coffee throughout your stay, along with a continental self service breakfast. As well as your room, there is a private garden area should you wish to relax at any time. We do have a dog and 2 cats who are friendly, but don't go into guest areas. Comfortable clean airy ensuite room with large flat screen TV and fast WiFi with Netflix. Newly decorated room with comfortable double bed. All toileties, Grohe thermostatic shower. Clean fresh cotton bedding, and towels. Extra quilt and pillows. Tea and coffee making facilities, masses of storage space, power points, 2 full length mirrors, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer. We live in one side of the house, and your room is completely separate with it's own staircase. Breakfast, in a sun room, is self service, consisting of cereals, fruit juice, toast, preserves, tea or coffee, and please let me know of any dietary requirements you may have. Parking is on the side road just beside the garden, with use of a permit. We have a lock up garage for cyclists, and offer a laundry service should this be required. Although I have no baby equipment, you are welcome if bringing your travel cot. You are welcome to share the lounge, and sun rooms, although our pets may be relaxing. There is a fridge for your use in the breakfast room, and please eat any takeaways there. I am available during your stay for any questions, and have lots of local knowledge, particularly if you enjoy the countryside, local history, tasty food, or live music. If there's anything you want to know, please ask. Beautiful scenery, Nature reserves, Pugneys, The Hepworth, The Yorkshire Sculpture Park , and Sandal Castle are just some of the places well worth a visit, along with local walks, or the Penine Trail. There are fabulous coffee shops, including 'The Springs' a charity shop just round the corner, having a selection of the most amazing cakes and delicious lunches. There are also restaurants, and takeaways within a short walk offering a variety of international cuisine, and specialist food stores, well worth a visit to stock up on authentic specialist ingredients if you love cooking. We are a 10 minute walk to Sandal Castle and Pugneys, with the Hepworth gallery a mile down the road, and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park a 20 minute drive. Travel is extremely easy whatever mode of transport you're using as we are easily accessible from either the M62 M1 or A1 motorways, Access by car is a ten minute drive from the M1. Sandal and Agbrigg train station is a 5 minute walk, with direct routes to Wakefield Leeds, and Sheffield , every half hour. A busy bus route is a 2 minute walk. We are a 10 minute walk from the Trans Penine Trail and cycling routes, and within 10 minutes, wonderful scenery. This is a listed period property, nearly 300years old, and during renovations many original features were discovered and restored, which adds to its quirky character. We are musicians, and can provide you with lots of local information regarding local live music, particularly jazz gigs, should you be interested. .
