Little Acres, Devoran, Cornwall

Little Acres is a beautiful new south facing house that we have been living in for the past 3 years. Situated in the beautiful creek side village of Devoran. With easy connections from the East it sets you up for a great place to settle in and explore the rest of Cornwall. If you don’t wish to travel to far within the village you have a friendly Pub, Park for the kids & Creek just a short walk away. It is only 10 mins from the Cathedral City of Truro or famous Seaside Town of Falmouth. Little Acres has an open plan kitchen that is very much the heart of the house, it is a very light room with bi fold doors at the front of the house and a window overlooking the back garden. There is a large granite island that is used for dinning with breakfast bar style seating, easily accommodates 8 people. The whole of downstairs has under floor heating, and should you feel the need to be a little more intimate there is a wood burner in the cozy connecting lounge. Downstairs is well thought out for those into outdoor activates, walking in the back door you can go straight into a downstairs shower to wash the kids off after a day at the beach. Up stairs you have 4 bedrooms, 1 double with en suite, a big master bedroom with a Super King Double, the 1st kids bedoom has a fun Rocket Bunk Bed with an Astronomical Theme, the 4th room has a single bed and cot for a little one, looking over the back garden. There is a big landing and family bathroom with a bath/shower. Outside you have a plenty of space for kids to run around & a drive that can take 3 cars, in the back garden there is a wood fired Pizza oven, BBQ & fire pit with log seating. While if sat outside in the front garden you can take in the last sun rays of the day as it sets over the hills towards Falmouth. For added entertainment we have 3 duck & 3 chicken’s that supply fresh eggs daily. You are not required to look after them but please feel free to go and sit with them should you desire. The top garden in the summer is a wonderful sun trap & has a few fruit trees, bearing juice apples depending on the time of year. If we are not in the area at you time of arrival and departure then we will have arranged for one of our friendly neighbors to be your first point of contact and help you settle in & assist with further local knowledge. Little Acres great location puts you in easy reach of Cornwall’s finest attractions such as The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan, both within 40 minutes’ drive. If you are into walking or surfing head to the rugged coves & long sandy beaches of north Cornwall or for more historical trips check out Poldark Mine, Saint Michael's Mount, Tintagel Castle (King Arthor) & The Minack Theatre all easily reached by car in less than an hour. For the kids you have The Seal Santury in Gweek, Newquay Zoo, Newquay Aquarium… the list is endless. Closer still you have the Carrick Rhodes/The Roseland to explore by foot or boat. Rental of Canoes/small motor boats can be done easily from Loe Beach or Mylor Harbor. Stunning & Famous Local Gardens & National Trust sites are within 25mins drive, Trebah Gardens (Website hidden by Airbnb) Glendurgan Gardens (Website hidden by Airbnb) Trelissick Gardens (Website hidden by Airbnb) Adding to this you are at the end of the Devoran to Portreath Bike trail that gives you wonderful access to a large network of riding trails and hikes. You can rent bikes locally from the village pub (The Old Quay Inn) just 5 mins walk away or on the trail at Bissoe Bike Hire, where there is also a lovely café and parking 5 mins drive ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) The local convenience store is only 2 mins drive, with a great butcher tucked away in the back, selling delicious local meat. Allan the local fisherman drop’s by the house on a Thursday afternoon delivering fresh fish, should you desire. Fresh milk is delivered every Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday Major stores such as Sainsbury's, Tesco & Asda all deliver, so you can pre order food for your arrival. Favorite locals eateries are The Old Quay Inn (5mins walk),The Pandora in Mylor, lunch or dinner out on the pontoon & Great for all the kids if into crabbing. Falmouth hosts many Restaurants.. Olivers, Wheelhouse & Le Cave, Asha to name a few favourites. Truro, has the Rising Sun Pub is a hidden secret, Bustopher Jones for cocktails and Great food. The Ferry Boat Inn over at the Helford River is a must for lunch close to the Gardens. Many more can be pointed out should you need further assistance. Car is bar far the best form of transport. However there is a local bus every hour into Truro or Falmouth. If only looking to hire a car locally, you can take the sleeper train to and from Paddington station into Truro or Newquay airport from Gatwick & many other destinations is only 40mins drive.
