Our beautiful rural retreat, is one of five cottages, set on a working farm. Stunning rural views across to the Peak District, add to the beauty of this country setting. Our cottage is perfect for anyone looking for a peaceful break. **Discounts apply for weekly bookings** If walking in the countryside is your thing, then you might well have found the perfect place. With an abundance of footpaths and bridleways that meander through the surrounding area, you can walk for miles, right from the cottage itself. Just half a mile away from the cottage, you’ll find the Churnet Valley Steam Railway, which is a great way to see the area. At the bottom of the valley is the Caldon Canal with a waterside footpath to follow, you can also access the canal by walking down through Reulow woods. Visit the Dovedale stepping stones, which is a short drive across the border in the Peak District. Or for a city day out, you can travel to Stoke, Derby or Stafford. Step into the entrance porch offering space to store muddy boots and coats and wander into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen space offers everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal during your stay, including an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with an ice compartment. There is a drop-leaf table where you can enjoy your meals. Relax on the sofa with the wood burner and TV for a cosy evenings in. Head up the stairs to the double bedroom and wonder onto the beautiful Juliette balcony, with stunning views over the valley. There is a handy en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. Outside of the cottage there is seating, providing a lovely spot to relax in the fresh air. Across from the cottage, this is a shared garden with a BBQ, seating area and a firepit. Down from the garden there is an enclosed dog exercise paddock where you can let you dog off the lead. Relax and unwind in our rustic barn, where there is a firepit, seating area and games. There is off-road parking This is a working farm with only one neighbor, half a mile down the road.
