The Old Post Office - Cragg Vale
Set in Cragg Vale, an area of outstanding natural beauty near Hebden Bridge, our property has been designed with guests in mind, to make your stay the most pleasurable it can be. The location of our cottages provides the perfect location - for a variety of stays, all year round. Although an elevated position, the roads are gritted and kept clear through the winter months, allowing the steep-sided wooded valley, fabulous moor and woodland views to be enjoyed and experienced all year round! The house was built in the 1880’s and served as the local post office of Cragg Vale up until 1986. Having recently undergone a full renovation, this stylish and relaxing property offers space for a maximum of 3 guests. The master bedroom has a comfortable double bed, sleeping two, with plenty of storage space for clothes, and a stunning view over the woodland, and there is a 2nd bedroom housing a single bed for one person - again with clothing storage. The kitchen is fully equipped, with an extending dining table and 4 chairs. The livingroom is the perfect spot to sit back and relax after a lovely day in the hills, with a log burning fire and smart TV. (You will need to log into your own accounts for Netflix etc) Out the back there is an elevated garden which is accessed via stone steps, allowing you to sit and enjoy the sun with a glass of something tasty! There is free on road parking directly outside the property. The entire property is for your sole use. I am available 24/7 via text or the air bnb app, and only live 15 minutes away should you need anything. Cragg Vale is a lush steep-sided wooded valley of outstanding natural beauty in the county of West Yorkshire, only 7 miles from the Lancashire border. It nestles amongst the peat moors that surround it on all sides, and provides a stunning verdant contrast to their austere beauty. We are two shakes of a lambs tail from the Pennine Way, where it approaches Stoodley Pike. It’s 8 miles from Halifax and 3 miles from Hebden Bridge. The nearest village is Mytholmroyd 1.3 mile away in the valley bottom. We have a village church of St. John the Baptist in the Wilderness, and an official touring caravan site for visitors. The Pennine Way and the Calderdale Way criss-cross the valley, both being magnets to casual and committed walkers alike. The river Calder and the canal system are both close by and provide interesting an varied recreational activities. There is a bus stop directly outside the property that can take you down to Mytholmroyd and the train station. We have 3 local taxi companies, and there is free on street parking outside the property.
