Offered by sisters, Rebecca and Marilyn, it is a charming cottage located one block from Downtown main street (shopping and restaurants) and five local parks. (Railroad Park and Gazebo, Bark Park, Skate Park, Veterans Park, Independence Park). Local hometown bar located next door. Just 45 minutes from Austin, 15 miles to La Grange or Bastrop, 35 miles to Warrenton and Round Top. Smithville is certified as a Film Friendly Community and home to movies like "Hope Floats" and "Tree of Life". It is a charming and cozy home, completely renovated in 2020. Decorated with a Texas-centric flair, it is comfortable with all essentials provided as well as many inessential items to add to your enjoyment of the Cottage and your experience of Smithville. Our favorite spaces are the Dining Room with its welcoming family-style dining atmosphere and the covered Back Patio which invites you to relax and lounge, enjoy a conversation, or choose to have a private moment, book in hand and wine glass at the ready. Downtown is only blocks away and you can easily walk, enjoying our small town ambiance with all it has to offer. We have 2 or 3 on-site uncovered parking places in back of the Cottage, on the alley side. We, as your hosts, would appreciate knowing beforehand if you have any particular requests which we can fulfill to make sure you have the best possible stay. One of us will always be available by text or phone call should something you need something or have a question during your stay. Otherwise we will allow you your privacy. Ruby's Foxcroft Cottage is located one block from Smithville's Historic Main Street. Enjoy small town Texas while shopping the vintage shops and antique stores, enjoying the tasty food at our local restaurants, or relaxing and perhaps taking in some entertainment at one of our comfortable and welcoming watering holes. And, the best part is … everything is within walking distance. The Cottage is also conveniently located only 15 miles from Bastrop or La Grange and one hour from Austin. Private parking for 2 cars via alley access. There is also room for 2 cars in front if necessary. Walk to downtown shopping, restaurants and bars. Smithville is just a lovely place to visit with the intention of relaxing and enjoying the sorts of activities one might expect to find in a small town.
