Rural setting just 20 mins from Wellington CBD

Thanks for your understanding :-) Our place is spacious, warm and homely. The living areas are generous and you can feel free to relax by the fire in winter, or out on the lawn in summer. The kitchen and living areas are shared. The guest bathroom is only shared among guests. The rest of the family have their own bathrooms. Guests can use the kitchen and are also welcome to do laundry at no cost. We have a dryer, washing line and clothes racks. Guest rooms have a very comfortable queen size bed, lots of pillows and lovely views from the windows. The blue and green room both have queen sized beds. The third bedroom is a small room with a king single bed. All beds are beautifully comfortable. Enjoy good quality linen and hot water bottles to keep your toes warm. Wifi is unlimited. You can find the password in your room. We have a port-a-cot, although our house is not toddler-proof (eg woodburner, stairs). Plenty of parking. If you want an earlier check-in or later check-out time, please ask and we will try to accommodate you. Public transport is not very accessible from here. It's best if you have your own car. Otherwise you can taxi/Uber to the nearest train/bus for a small fare (about a 10-15 min drive). This is our home, so you will be joining Tobe, Helena and their teenage daughter Islay (son Louis has flown the nest). We live with two cats, a dog, chickens, ducks and two horses. It's a happy, busy home but there's always a peaceful spot to relax. We love to meet new people and share a glass of wine and our knowledge of the area, or we are just as happy if you prefer to keep to yourself. Breakfast is included, but usually you will need to help yourself (like we do!) since we are usually too busy in the mornings to serve meals. Sometimes I get inspired and do a cooked breakfast but normally it's every man and woman for themselves :-) Helena enjoys cooking and is happy to prepare you a hearty evening one course sit-down meal for $20 per person (please give at least 24 hours notice). Do not hesitate to bring anything to our attention, ask questions or if you need anything. We are here to help you be comfortable, happy and well taken care of. Belmont is a beautiful, safe and very quiet neighbourhood. It’s a ten minute drive to historic Jackson St. where you can find a huge selection of restaurants, takeaways and supermarkets. Our place is close to lots of wholesome activities: hiking, swimming, bush, parks, great mountain bike tracks. There are plenty of beautiful native birds to entertain you in the bush by our home. The night sky is utterly stunning on a clear night soaking in the spa. Wellington is famous for its cafe culture, colourful nightlife, craft beer scene and creative businesses. 10 minutes down the road to Petone train station. We are happy to pick-up from/drop off to public transport if we’re available and you let us know in advance.
