This restored cottage offers simple rustic furniture, recycled timbers, polished wooden floorboards, set in a gorgeous garden surrounded by 115 acres of tranquil farm land and rolling hills. Wake up to the sound of birdsong and enjoy star gazing in the peaceful clear night skies while relaxing around the fire pit. Carrington Cottage is a privately owned working cattle property. Located under 1 hour drive from Brisbane and only 2 km to Marburg or 9 km to Rosewood where you can replenish supplies. We are at the gateway to the Scenic rim to the south west, and to the north east, the Wivenhoe Dam, Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and Somerset region. The cottage contains 1 bedroom suitable for a couple with one or two young children, basic kitchenette with small cooktop, microwave (not full stove) washing machine, and usual appliances as well as pots, crockery & cutlery. Gas BBQ beside the patio and for the cool winter nights, a fire pit with timber stumps for seating. (Subject to seasonal fire restrictions) The garden offers plenty of large spaces for playing and numerous shady secluded nooks to relax and unwind. Seasonal herbs also available. Continental breakfast provided on first morning of your stay. No shared areas. The cottage is completely separate and private but located in the corner garden of main homestead. As Carrington is a working farm, access is not allowed into paddocks with horses, cattle and machinery. Please enjoy and observe animals from a distance.
