Set in an Victorian-style townhouse, this unassuming bed-and-breakfast is a 1-minute walk from Gretna Green railway station, a 9-minute walk from the Gretna Gateway Outlet Village and 10.6 miles from Carlisle Castle. Casual, contemporary rooms feature WiFi, flat-screen TVs and tea and coffee making facilities. Please note rooms have there own small shower en suites. I try to be available for all my guests (can ring the internal bell) I do sometimes go out but usually leave a note and or discuss that going out. In the heart of Gretna Green In the world-famous border village of Gretna Green, Scotland, we are the oldest guest house in Gretna Green and one of the first or last guest houses in Scotland, depending on your direction of travel! Gretna Green is, of course, famous for weddings, so no visit to this most famous of villages would be complete without taking in The Gretna Green Story Exhibition which tells how the village became a marriage hot spot for eloping English couples. You can also see the famous anvil. The Gretna Green Sculpture Garden, opened by actress Britt Ekland in 1994, features works by amateur and professional artists celebrating romance and love. Also a short walk from Greenlaw is the Gretna Outlet Village, perfect for a spot of retail therapy! Although famous for weddings,the area in and around Gretna Green has so much more to offer visitors including fishing, cycling, walking, local attractions and places of interest as well as the Gretna Outlet Village, perfect for a spot of retail therapy! We are also a short drive to Carlisle Airport with flights to South-end-on-Sea, Belfast and Dublin. We are a perfect base for exploring nearby attractions such as The Devil’s Porridge Exhibition at Annan, Tullie House Museum at Carlisle, Carlisle Castle and Hadrian’s Wall! with the Train station across the road it is easy to leave the car with us and travel further a field to Edinburgh , Glasgow etc for the day.
