Stunning country residence with outdoor heated pool, situated in the beautiful Meon Valley and South Downs National Park. It is ideal for large families (and pets) as it sleeps 16 adults, which includes a separate annexe with two self contained studios. Enjoy the large house and gardens (3.5 acres) with direct access to the Meon Way and surrounding countryside. Electric gates, very private, lockable bike storage, stabling, BBQ and Ultra Fast Wi-Fi. The pool is open 1st May to 30th September. A beautiful family home with loads of space in the house and grounds. 3.5 acres to enjoy and direct access to the Meon Way and South Downs National Park. The house is big but cosy too - Aga in the kitchen but also induction hob, fan oven, wine fridge and loads of freezer space for your “Cook” delivery. The annexe has two self contained studios - so spread out and enjoy yourselves. Bring your dog and horse if you like! Plenty of parking and patios with garden furniture. Outdoor heated swimming pool, open 1st May to 30th September, with pool room ( and another toilet and shower!). Plenty of parking here and you will need a car as there is no public transport. The nearest train station is Botley or Fareham. The house is available all year round and you will have the whole place to yourselves - the house and annexe The South Downs National Park and Meon Valley are beautiful with lovely walks and chalk streams. Ancient woodlands such as The Forest of Bere are beautiful - especially in bluebell season. Old Winchester Hill is nearby as is the medieval towns of Wickham and Bishops Waltham. Both of these are pretty with lovely cafes and independent shops. The Meon valley is steeped in history and East Meon is linked to Bayeaux and features in the Bayeaux Museum. The Cathedral cities of Winchester and Chichester are 25 minutes away, together with many other attractions such as The Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth, the New Forest, River Hamble (for sailing), beaches and nature reserves and Goodwood Racecourse. Some pubs are walkable such as The Roebuck or The White Lion at Soberton - both of which are dog friendly. There is a local trekking centre in Soberton: "South Downs Trekking" and many other riding centres. You will need a car to access the wider area, but Wickham can be walked or cycled to (3 miles). The local train stations are at Fareham and Botley, but we are not on a bus route. The pool is closed in winter, but is open 1st May to 30th September. The house will be decorated for Christmas with a real Christmas tree.
