The Accommodation The self-contained cottage with open plan living room, dining and fully equipped kitchen including full size fridge, freestanding stove and oven (no dishwasher) has all you need to create your gourmet self-catering escape. The spacious queen bedroom with riverfront views means from the moment you wake to the sounds of the water lapping on the foreshore you are captivated by the ripples on the water and the light reflections. The ‘buttery soft’ French linens and rustic timber textures conjure blissful dreams and if you are lucky, you may be gently woken by the full moon’s reflections on the river or the Aurora Australis across the Southern sky. The beautifully appointed bathroom with shower-bath and bespoke Huon Pine vanity is the perfect place to soak and relax. We supply you with all-natural and eco-friendly shampoo bars and bath soaps from Hobart based Beauty and the Bees. Please use them, we’re confident that you will fall in love with these scrumptious eco-friendly beauty products sourced from the ‘Mountains, Seas, Farms and Rainforests of Tasmania'. The separate sunroom is a delightful light-filled space featuring gorgeous garden and river views, the perfect place to read a book or create your own artwork with provided art supplies. The exterior and interior design of The Art Studio, based on a black palette, affords the perfect backdrop to showcase the coastal environment and landscaped gardens. The interior design includes mementoes collected over decades by hosts Daren and Ruth and art for sale, carefully curated in each room with your relaxation and inspiration in mind. From the moment you turn into the drive, enjoy artistic installations and the landscaped Japanese Maple Gardens surrounding The Art Studio. Hosts resident artists, Ruth and Darren Lindsell who live in a separate home on the farm, have created a substantial and unique 2.5 km self-guided Sculpture Walk. Meander the sign-posted paths through organic fruit orchards and natural bushland discovering the many thoughtful and surprising installations. Appropriate bushwalking footwear is recommended. As well as farm animals, take the supplied binoculars to spot Tassie’s distinctive wildlife and enjoy photography from the vantage points above Petcheys Bay to the distant Hartz Mountains. Return to laze in the hammock enjoying the river breeze in shaded contemplation or curl up by the slow combustion fire on cooler days with a choice of supplied books. Enjoy glorious sunsets with award-winning Huon Valley wines and ciders beside the fire pit and BBQ. Without WIFI and TV, allow yourself time to browse books and express your own creativity with the complimentary drawing and water-colour art materials provided. Drive along the country and coastal roads taking in the scenic vistas with roadside stalls and coastal picnic spots to visit Cygnet’s farmers markets and cafes just ten minutes away, and nearby Huonville surrounded by amazing producers who grow food, make wine and cider that are a foodies’ dream. We are happy to interact with guests as little or as much as they wish. We live on the property so usually can be available readily if there are any concerns. The Cygnet Coast Road comprises riverfront farming community..... orchards, blueberry farms and vineyards Cygnet Coast Road is a meandering coastal dirt road, great for leisurely strolling or slow relaxing drives, taking in the Huon River Estuary with farms dotted alongside, with plenty of choice places to pull over have a picnic and take those holiday snaps. The picturesque drive offers you the choice to go directly to the renowned township of Cygnet, great for stocking up on your local produce and taking in the culture of the small creative town, or going into the bigger centre of Huonville. The Art Studio @ Ripples Art Farm provides a great base to take in day trips to Bruny Island, the Huon Valley and Southern Tasmania, all renowned for their stunning natural beauty, waterways, mountains and amazing food.
