Peak District Stone Cottage
Welcome to our traditional stone cottage set in the Peak District. Built in 1910, our house is warm and friendly and has wooden features throughout. Glossop is a lovely town, situated on the edge of the Pennines and minutes walk from the Peak District Trails. Kinder scout is only a few miles away. Ideally located for both walking and cycling breaks away. We are located 5 minutes walk from Glossop Train Station and 5 minutes walk from Glossop High Street. Downstairs there is a nice living room with a log burner. The kitchen is farmhouse style with stylish kitchen table and chairs. Please note: I have a tv licence but I don’t want Sky or normal tv. I prefer to explore. If you need to watch anything please bring a laptop. There is a HDMI cable to plug into. The 'mini-orchard' garden is south facing with sun all day long (when its sunny). In the house you will find full cooking equipment for all you need to be able to make a full meal. There is a fully stocked spice cupboard, please help yourself. There is a supply of tea and coffee, please help yourself. There are two bedrooms with a bunk bed in the back room. The back room also has incredible views of the surrounding hills. Guests can access all areas with the exception of the cellar and loft. We will will not be at the property when guests are present but are contactable through Airbnb or by mobile if you have any questions. Anyone will tell you Glossop is a lovely town. Situated on the doorstep to the Peak District trails. Glossop railway station is only minutes walk from our cottage, so you wont need a car here. The High Street is also minutes walk are the range of boutique shops, delicatessens and award-winning greengrocers and butchers. In the evening you have many real ale pubs, but Harvey Leonards is a superb wine and craft beer bar. For meals the Queens Hotel serves fine curry's plus authentic English food - it's also a great place to watch the game. There are a number of Peak District Trails only 10 minutes walk from our cottage. Doctors Gate is an absolute must, details for this are available in our cottage handbook along with other local walks. As mentioned above. The train station is only minutes walk away. The train stops here so makes very little noise. Being so close to the shops and train station, parking can be tricky. If you cant find a spot outside number 11, you can drive 30 seconds round the corner and usually find something. Otherwise co op car park is also 1 minute away.
