Byre Cottage Studio
The Studio is a detached recently renovated annexe (approx 8x3.5 metres). It is single-storey, and has a comfortable living space, kitchenette, breakfast bar, small bedroom area with double bed, and very small but attractive ensuite shower room. The studio has fast fibre broadband and bluetooth music system plus TV with Freeview and DVD player There is covered parking for one car. While there is no garden with the studio there are two fold up chairs to sit just outside if needed. The space is beautifully lit with a whole range of lighting options. Sofa and chairs comfortably seat 3. The kitchenette area has a small counter-top combi oven/microwave, a single plug-in hot plate and a full-size fridge. We provide ground coffee, tea, milk and some everyday essentials in a welcome basket. We provide quality shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Although this is a peaceful country area, the Studio is quite close to the lane and there will be some noise from passing cars and agricultural traffic, especially at peak times. All of the Studio and the Courtyard where a car can be parked. Guests may make use of the small table and chairs in the courtyard. We live in the main house close to the Studio and will be on hand to offer any advice or suggestions, but you only need see us if you want to. We live on a rural lane in a small hamlet in the heart of 1066 country, surrounded by lovely country and woodland walks. The house is close to many fabulous coastal towns, the white cliffs of Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters and many areas of outstanding natural beauty on the South Downs. The nearest beach at Normans Bay is about six miles away, but there are fabulous stoney beaches at Eastbourne, Bexhill and Hastings all within 15 miles. Brighton is just under 20 miles. The huge sandy beaches of Camber Sands are just over 20 miles away. The famous historical towns of Battle and Lewes are 6 and 13 miles away respectively. The local village, Herstmonceux, has a moated 15th century castle and Science Centre. Lots of lovely pubs in the area and the local village (2 miles) has a great Indian restaurant, a fish and chip shop and a fabulous upmarket restaurant (The Sun Dial). You will need a car or bike. Nearest bus routes are about a mile away. The nearest station is Polegate which is about six miles away. Please note the bedroom and en-suite are small.
