A lovely bright apartment that's modern throughout! Completely self contained, situated adjacent to the main house. Enjoy complete privacy in this wonderful 1 bedroom flat including WiFi, tv, fully equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Located between the picturesque vibrant towns of Marlow (5 mins) and Henley (10 mins) in a quiet secluded residence. Many wonderful restaurants and coffee shops to enjoy as well as the wonderful walks along the Thames & Chilterns. This modern hideaway is situated in a historic walled garden formerly serving the local manor house. There is lots of garden space and outdoor seating areas, including a private patio and a tennis court for your enjoyment. Private parking on site. Marlow is without a doubt one of the loveliest locations on the River Thames, set amongst the rich meadows of the river valley and alongside the woodlands of the Chiltern Hills. The vibrant Georgian market town is made up of historic streets and an abundance of boutique shops, restaurants, cafes and bistros all adding to the town’s unique charm. A number of Michelin starred chefs have their restaurants in Marlow including Tom Kerridge and Atul Kochhar. The town’s most famous landmark is the suspension bridge which spans the River Thames and joins the counties of Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. Marlow has always been known as a fashionable riverside resort and attracted many famous people to the area. Residents of the town have included Thomas Love Peacock, Jerome K. Jerome, T.S. Eliot and Mary Shelley who finished her gothic masterpiece Frankenstein while living in the town. Marlow is also home to one of Britain’s most premier rowing clubs which has produced many Olympic oarsmen including Sir Steve Redgrave whose statue stands in Higginson Park Henley: Winner of a Britain-in-Bloom Gold medal, this 13th century market town is one of the most beautiful towns in England. Henley enjoys a wonderful stretch of river with delightful independent shops, brilliant pubs, numerous cafes and great restaurants, while throughout the summer it hosts internationally renowned sporting events and festivals. For the golfl enthusiasts PGA europro course Harleyford Golf club is less than a mile away and there are many other courses within a short drive. Car is the easiest way of getting here and there is plenty of private parking. We are just a 5 minute taxi ride from Marlow or 10 minutes from Henley if you are relaxing in one of local hostelries or travelling here by train. Both Marlow and Henley have mainline rail stations. Many local restaurants offer take away and delivery service too if a relaxing night in is just what you need. There is also the local bus service, the cottage is on the route between Reading and High Wycombe .
