Located in the idyllic village of Wartling in the heart of 1066 country close to Eastbourne. The Bunkhouse is located adjacent to farmland in beautiful rural countryside. The Bunkhouse provides spacious, open-plan accommodation arranged on two floors. The light and airy ground floor has the benefit of underfloor heating, walnut flooring throughout and oak-framed french windows. The luxury shower room/WC is fully tiled with a heated towel rail. The living/dining area comprises a comfortable 3 seater sofa and snuggler chair, dining table & chairs and television with Sky TV. The well-equipped kitchen is furnished in a retro style with highly polished restored aluminium & stainless steel units and accessories dating from the 1950s. There is also a Britannia gas range cooker, washing machine/dryer, SMEG fridge, breakfast bar/stools and kettle, toaster, saucepans, crockery and glasses. Access to the first floor is via a bespoke Italian walnut & chrome spiral staircase and includes a comfortable super-king bed with padded leather headboard, bedside cabinets and chest of drawers. The bedroom has far reaching views across the Sussex countryside and Herstmonceux Observatory. A hair dryer and hair straighteners are also provided. The Bunkhouse has its own private parking area adjacent to the building. The Bunkhouse offers complete privacy but we are on hand in the main house approximately 50 metres away and are available if needed. The idyllic village of Wartling dates from the 13th Century and is situated in the heart of 1066 country in East Sussex, just to the north of Eastbourne. Located 400 metres south of Herstmonceux Castle and Science Centre. There are several excellent pubs and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The local area has much to offer with nearby beaches (10 minutes), the historic town of Battle (15 minutes' drive), the County town of Lewes and the world famous Glyndebourne Opera House (25 minutes) and Brighton (40 minutes). We are always happy to offer advice and assistance regarding local amenities in order to make your stay more enjoyable. Guests will require their own transport to get to and from The Bunkhouse. The mainline stations of Polegate and Battle are 15 minutes' drive with direct trains to London (either London Victoria or Charing Cross). Gatwick Airport is one-hour away by car. The seaside resorts of Eastbourne, Pevensey, Cooden, Bexhill & Hastings are a short drive away (10 to 25 minutes). Tea, coffee & milk are provided.
