Showmans Caravan - Montacute
Named after a stately home and one of the largest Showman's Caravans ever built, it was constructed by the specialist manufacturer, PILOT in 1960 and extended in 1969. Refurbished in a contemporary period style, it features a double bedroom, leading into a common area with bunk beds, a small utility area and a bathroom with shower & wash basin. It's fully heated throughout with an electric stove and oil-fired radiators. The river Parrett meanders a few yards away.Breakfast available on request. The Showman's Caravan sits in the Glade alongside a Shepherds Hut and Showman's Wagon surrounding a camp fire. The River Parrett Trails runs by this can be enjoyed as a 50 mile hike over 3 to 4 days or as a series of shorter walks exploring some of lowlands England's most beautiful, intriguing countryside. From the Glade you can take a short stroll to the Haselbury Mill for breakfast, lunches and evening meals. Enjoy the grounds and seating area near the lake. The Showman's caravan sits on the edge of the River Parrett Trail, Situated on the borders of Somerset and Dorset with convenient road and rail links. This is a great base to explore all that the South West has to offer. Main line station at Crewkerne Tea & Coffee is provided in the Showman's caravan, but no cooking facilities, however, you can book Breakfast at the Mill on arrival.
