Fresh & clean suite with two bedrooms, each with a double bed. There is a shower room & separate WC. No kitchen & limited communal space but there is a TV, Microwave and mini-fridge for guests to use plus tea & coffee making facilities. Whilst fairly basic the central location is ideal for getting around London with superb transport links a few minutes walk away. Ideal for couples or small family who plan to spend time visiting London's attractions & eating out. Guests have the whole self-contained apartment which is accessed via entrance on high street and up staircase to first floor We do not live at the apartment ourselves, we are approximately an hour away and can be contacted 24 hours a day via mobile phone. Additionally, we have a friend, Jenny who lives just a few doors away who is available should you require any help. Jenny Speaks French and English. The apartment is just minutes away from Vauxhall Cross (tube, train & bus station) and it’s location is hard to beat being near the Thames, opposite the Tate Britain and in walking distance of Waterloo and the South Bank. Famously by Vauxhall Bridge stands the central headquarters of the British Secret Intelligence Service (more commonly referred to as MI6 and featured in James Bond films) Vauxhall is a mixed commercial and residential district of southwest London with shops and flats alongside gentrified terraced townhouses. The area is also a mixture of old and new with Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms soon to be London’s new ‘diplomatic precinct’ which will be the new home to the US embassy and others. It certainly is in the busy, urban heart of the city but by way of contrast to the busy Kennington Lane on one side of the apartment building at the rear is a large green space where amongst other things you’ll find Vauxhall City Farm which is open daily and contains a range of animals including alpacas, sheep, goats and pigs and you can even go pony riding! It is a very ethnically diverse area and also has a thriving gay village of underground clubs and more recently is being celebrated for “Voho chic” as Vauxhall is becoming London's hottest art district thanks to Damien Hirst and the Newport Street galleries. It is a complete mixture of so many different things that it epitomises the diversity that is London. Historically LGBT-friendly, it’s edgier, then some of the other London districts and is an ideal base to go sightseeing with fantastic transport links. Vauxhall is very central with its 24-hour public transport you are Less than 10 min’s from the West End by tube, Only 15 min’s walk to the Southbank.
