Sand & Stone is the ultimate riverfront paradise, offering lots of privacy and only a short boat ride from the shores of Berowra Waters. A haven for relaxation and a house that captures the natural warmth of the sun in winter and the cool of the shade in summer, with breezes from across the water and plenty of clean, fresh air. Your unique access is by boat, where you will be welcomed and transferred across to Sand & Stone for check in. You will then have your own private tinnie to use during your stay. Sand & Stone sits on absolute waterfront, nestled in Calabash Bay Berowra Waters, and spanning four floors is a wonderful balance between contemporary comforts and a relaxed river feel. Sand & Stone provides a haven for relaxation with spectacular river views and natural beauty surrounds. Its seclusion allows you to enjoy and connect with the river via your own private pontoon where you can swim, and single and double kayaks are available for your private use. Sand & Stone has internet access, Apple TV, Netflix and free-to-air TV as well as mobile phone coverage. Book in for a meal at the renowned Berowra Waters Inn and they offer a free transfer service between the restaurant and Sand & Stone (however make sure you book a few weeks ahead). It is our family holiday home and we try to leave things in the house which may be helpful - its not just a "holiday rental". We hope you will enjoy spending your break in this stunning location as much as we do. You'll have access to the entire house and a tinnie to explore this exceptional waterway. Boat transfers for check in and check out will be provided by our airbnb manager. Berowra Creek and Calabash bay is simply a beautiful piece of paradise and only 50 minutes from Sydney CBD. Calabash Creek offers kayakers kilometres of a pristine shallow mangrove creek system with freshwater creeks to explore on foot where kayaks cannot reach. You can walk immediately above the property and explore an old hotel ruin and walk along a fire trail. The renowned restaurant, The Berowra Waters Inn, is just down the river. When making your booking prearrange with the restaurant to collect you from the property and return you after your meal. CHILDREN Families with children are absolutely welcome, in fact many families with young children live on the river. However, parental/guardian supervision is essential to ensure children are kept safe as there are a range of risks associated with staying on Berowra Waters. The house is set over 4 stories and is on the river, there are many stairs and no ability to attach gates. Please message if you require more details. Hazards include deep water and fall from height (open stairs, elevated balconies, rock outcrops). STRICTLY NO PARTIES OR DISTURBANCE Noisy groups, parties and functions are strictly prohibited. Guests who use the property contrary to this may have their rental immediately terminated. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS No more than 9 people can be hosted on our property, including visitors. This is a strict requirement to ensure our water and wastewater systems and local environment are sustained and we’re not in breach of Council regulations. BOAT USE You will have access to a tinnie as part of your stay which can ONLY be used during daylight hours. The tinnie is an open air, aluminium hull, tiller steer vessel which seats up to four persons. A boat licence is not required for use of the tinnie as long as it is driven no more than 10 knots. Most of the waterways around Berowra Waters have a strict 4 knot speed limit, which is enforced by NSW Maritime and NSW Police. Use of the tinnie is included in our rates. A full tank of fuel, lifejackets and mandatory safety equipment is provided. We will provide a briefing on safe use of the boat. You will be required to sign a boat use agreement which recognises that use of the boat is at your own risk. LATE ARRIVAL & ADDITIONAL BOAT TRANSFERS We can arrange additional boat transfers for early or late arriving guests or if transfers are required in addition to the arrival and departure boat transfer which is included in our rates. Additional boat transfers may use other local providers whose rates are cash only. The rate must be paid directly to the provider at the time of the transfer.
