Overlook Ahead! Near Glenwood and Adventure!

Drive through the beautiful Colorado countryside to your cozy yet quirky apartment, stocked with everything you need for an easy stay! Whether you're looking for quick access to the Flat Tops or just want to be close to the Roaring Fork Valley this is the perfect location for you! The apartment has a large collection of board games, reading material, and yard games to keep your group entertained! 15 minutes to Glenwood Springs 40 minutes to Sunlight Mountain 1 hour 15 minutes to Vail or Aspen Private, newly remodeled garden-level flat that is spacious, clean, and has all the amenities you need for a mountain adventure, including WIFI! Start your adventure off right with fresh-ground coffee, french-press, electric coffee maker, or pour-over style. Tea and instant kettle also provided! Enjoy your brew in the sunny sitting room that boasts large windows with a view and a modest collection of our plants for your enjoyment. Large kitchen with 2 induction burner cooktop, full-size fridge, toaster, rice-maker, and convection oven/microwave unit. We recycle and collect food scraps for worm-composting on site. Plenty of secure storage space available indoors for your valuables (skiis, climbing gear, dirtbike & snowmobile helmets/boots/suits) and w/d/utility sink to wash off the mud from the adventures of the day. XL parking available if you have boats, campers or snowmobile trailers you need to store - off street-. Cozy up in the eve to the easy-to-use electric fireplace that creates ambiance and warmth for crisp fall and winter evenings. There is also a LARGE (60+ we have an addiction!) collection of board games (Catan, Tsuro, Dominion, Azul, Splendor, Risk, plus family friendly games), cards, a table top casino set-up, and reading material available . There is a smart TV you can use using your personal streaming account logins. The bedroom near the kitchen has a queen bed with a memory foam mattress and thick, decorative curtains that can be closed for additional privacy. The living room futon converts to a full-size bed (if needed please let us know so we can set out additional bedding). The spare room has a room divider set up for more privacy and also has a very cozy queen bed with a memory foam mattress. We also have a “pack’n play” portable crib that can be made available upon request. The bathroom comes with shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap/body wash, mini bar-soap, clean towels, tp, and hair dryer. There is a small medical kit and a hot water bottle to soothe aches or put at the foot of your bed on cold nights! The shower/tub has great water pressure and is just feet from the instant hot water heater. Enjoy your private patio that boasts sunset views and privacy. There is an outdoor table and chairs, along with an umbrella. In the outdoor storage bin, you will find yard games including horse shoes, ladder ball, and corn hole that can be set up and played on the wood-chip game pitch we created next to your patio! During the evenings, you can turn on the solar lights and enjoy the stars! There is no bbq or fire pit due to always changing fire restrictions in our state. Keypad entry to prevent pesky lost keys! Our namesake, "Overlook Ahead:” While remodeling, the previous owners found an old odd-shaped table in a shed. When flipped over, they realized it was created with a vintage Colorado road sign! They cleaned it up and now the sign adorns the space. It will always be a mystery as to what overlook it was referring to, but we love the piece and hope you enjoy it as well. Please keep in mind we do live upstairs and while we do our best to be as quite as possible you may occasionally hear us or our dogs. Apartment only. Upstairs, shed and garage are private. The neighborhood is RURAL and with that said, we have many "loose" pets. You may be visited by a friendly dog, cat, or deer - please refrain from feeding or petting!! If these kinds of interactions make you uncomfortable, you may wish to stay elsewhere. The hosts can shoo an animal away if they are annoying you, please just message us. Also, please do not leave food in your car or outside the apartment. We are in the Colorado Mountains so while rare, it is possible for larger wildlife like bears and mnt lions to wander where there is food or loose trash. We are rural and not near any bus stops. Would be best to have your own vehicle, however we are a short bike ride from downtown New Castle and trails. There is a step up to get in the front door. There is a step up into the bedroom. We had a very tall guest stay at our place, and he felt cramped in the bedroom and bathroom. This is something to note if you are a very tall person!
