Self-catering hideaway, in the grounds of The Albannach besides the kitchen garden. Our newly created Scandi sanctuary has everything you need for a relaxed, self-sufficient retreat in the Scottish wilderness. Wander our small woodland garden, bring your paddle boards and use The Albannach slipway or explore the wild landscape further afield, returning back to your peaceful abode. 3 nights minimum stay. The living space is light and elegantly simple, with Scandinavian leanings. A bespoke plywood kitchen, hand made in Scotland sits beautifully beneath artisanal tiles from Spain. Parquet flooring runs through all the rooms, leading to a luxuriously spacious shower in the bathroom and a cosy bedroom with sumptuous linens. The private, decked terrace sits up amongst the tree line of our woodland garden and has great views of the 'local hills' Canisp and Suilven. Its a glorious sun trap in the summer. The apartment is furnished for all of your needs, with a well equipped kitchen, toiletries, bed linens and towels. -Central heating throughout - 43" Flat screen, smart TV - Roberts Bluetooth speaker - Isle of Harris hand soap and cream - Large, walk-in shower - Integrated fan oven, induction hob, dishwasher and fridge with freezer box - Full range of utensils, saucepans, cooking and baking equipment - Cafetiere, some freshly ground coffee and tea bags -Green cleaning products and dishwashing pads - Laundry service available - 4G WiFi throughout - King sized bed, luxury linen, small wardrobe, hairdryer We're at the other end of the garden, so if you do require any small extras, or any advice we can usually be of assistance. The kitchen garden is just besides the apartment so on request, during the growing season, fresh vegetables are sometimes available. The apartment sits above the garages, which are only used for storage and not accessed during guest stays. Guests are free to explore the garden, we also have a natural slipway on our land which could be useful for launching into the loch! There are plenty of sheltered spaces to store bikes. For a small fee we can take care of one bag of laundry for guests weekly. To save on space in the apartment, some items such as an iron and ironing board have been removed and can be brought over on request. A microwave can also be supplied on request. The main house is at the other end of the garden and I can usually be reached for any reason. The village of Lochinver is on the other side of the Loch and a scenic 20 minutes walk away. It is very well served with several restaurants and cafes. There are two very well stocked local shops for small groceries. The closest (small) supermarket is in Ullapool. There is exquisite solitude to be found all year round, with pristine wilderness in all directions. For dinner at local restaurants I highly recommend booking well in advance. There are a couple of great spots for outdoor eating and takeaway which do not require booking. There is an electric car charging point in the village.
