Self-contained boutique accommodation in the heart of historic New Norfolk with spectacular views west to Mt. Field, and to the Esplanade and River Derwent at the base of the property. This two-bedroom apartment with Q/S beds offers comfortable & relaxing accommodation for one or two couples. Breakfast provisions supplied for the first morning as well as complimentary toiletries. Price quoted is per couple; a fee of $30 p/p applies for each additional guest per night. Whilst "Kumara" was built c (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , facilities are (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) It has been tastefully modernised with an up-to-date fully equipped kitchen/dining room opening onto a large balcony containing a sheltered breakfast nook; a euro laundry with combi washer dryer; a sitting room for relaxing, and two large bedrooms with Q/S beds, doonas, electric blankets. The main bedroom opens onto the veranda. There is reverse cycle heating/air conditoning in several of the rooms. Off-street parking with access to a private entrance is provided. Stroll to the local antique shops, cafes, Esplanade and River Derwent, swimming pool (in Summer) and picnic areas. Pack a picnic basket, (provided) rug and explore the local neighbourhood. If it's fishing season, bring a rod, buy a licence and drop a line. My husband Steve and I live on the top floor of "Kumara" and we will be contactable during our guests stay. Because we live in strange times (Covid), we will arrange for the front door to be unlocked following guest advice of ETA. Post Covid, we hope to greet our guests at the time of check-in. Our guest privacy is paramount. New Norfolk is a historic Tasmanian town settled (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) by repatriated Norfolk Island settlers. Early buildings of significance include the "Bush Inn" Hotel on the western side of "Kumara", Willow Court, the Anglican Church of St. Matthews and many early homesteads and oast houses. New Norfolk has an abundance of food options from local cafe fare and hotel countermeals to fine dining, just a short stroll from "Kumara". Walking is certainly an option, and parking is easy. There is a regular bus service to and from Hobart. The hosts, Leanda & Steve reside in the upstairs apartment. Any issues, just call, otherwise, your privacy is paramount.
