Welcome to the Emerald Cabin! Newly renovated, charming 1950's vintage cabin in the magical Whispering Pines Forest. Our water is all spring fed, and it's pretty magical. This charming little cabin can sleep up to 6 guests. We are located in the quiet neighborhood of Whispering Pines on Cobb Mountain, CA. Near hiking trails, wine tasting, hot springs, golfing, yoga, mountain biking, fishing and more. There's plenty to do, but this is a perfect place to retreat to, get cozy, stay in and relax! Follow us on Insta @emeraldcabin to see videos and more pics. The interior of the cabin is lined with reclaimed milled Valley Fire pine trees, we kept all the original doors, refinished the existing wood floors and left the beams and ceiling in it's natural state. The Emerald Cabin is located on a quiet dirt road of a rural neighborhood. (Please note: there are neighbors, however the neighbors don’t feel too close because of the forest between us, the forest around us makes it feel private and secluded when inside.) The cabin is surrounded by pine, dogwood, oak and maple trees with a rustic deck, propane BBQ (and an outdoor shower!). The whole cabin is on spring water, you can drink it straight from the tap. We have one large open common space (sleeper sofa, living room, kitchen and dining area), a laundry room, full bathroom as well as a primary bedroom and small bunk-bed bedroom with amazing tree views - it feels like you're sleeping in a treehouse! The primary bedroom has a queen size Casper memory foam mattress and the sleeper sofa has a queen size bed with a memory foam topper, the bunk beds are also memory foam twin size mattress’, and all beds have quality linens. Amenities include: - Smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, and Peacock with options for you to stream any of your own paid channels. - Wifi - Cooking pots and pans, utensils, spices, oils etc. for basic cooking needs - Keurig coffee maker, French press, and tea pot - Hand held battery powered milk frother/Electric Coffee Grinder - Coffee, tea and hot cocoa - Spring water suitable for drinking straight from the tap - Hotel quality linens - Outdoor shower - Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. - Hairdryer - First Aid Kit - Extra bedding, pillows, linens and blankets - Board games, cards and books - USB Charger wall outlets on either side of the primary bedroom bed. - Propane BBQ - Extra towels to take to the local pool, lake, or hot springs - A list of things to do and places to see in the area will be provided and more! Guests have access to the whole home. Conveniently located minutes from the grocery store, coffee shop, golfing, hiking trails, yoga, community pool, Harbin Hot Springs, wine tasting and more! Drive time to towns close by: Middletown – 10/15 min Kelseyville – 20/25 min Lakeport – 30/35 min Clearlake – 30 min Calistoga - 40 min St. Helena - 60 min Napa - 1hr 15min San Francisco - 2 hours The driveway is slightly steep, but lined with gravel to help with traction, however we have a parking space for 2WD vehicles at the entry way of the driveway up at the road, under the address sign. We recommend that you park here if you have 2WD to eliminate any issues of getting out of the driveway. The neighborhood is very rural and located next to the Whispering Pines Resort with some paved roads, but also dirt roads, which can make driving here in the winter somewhat tricky. Occasionally it snows in the winter and may require a AWD/4WD. Please plan accordingly. The cabin is on a quiet dirt road, with only a few surrounding neighbors. Because our cabin is nestled in the mountains, it is important to remember that it can feel like quite a drive! So please make sure to map it out from your location so you are not surprised by this. It is also important to note that this is a rustic cabin on a dirt road and with that comes a little dust! Texting is faster than calling for us to get back to you. We are available just down the road for any emergencies or issues that may arise. We are also a text or phone call away for any question or concerns. The main heat source is a mini split unit in the main common space. In addition, the bedrooms and bathroom have plug in wall units that can add extra heat. Bring extra layers as it does get a bit chilly in the evening, even in the summer. The main cooling source is the same mini split unit in the main common space. In addition, the bedrooms and bathroom are equipped with fans for your comfort and all the windows are lined with screens so you can open up the windows and sleep with the fresh cool forest air. We have 1 security camera at the front door and one facing the drive way. This is for yours (and our) safety. If you have any concerns about this please feel free to let us know. It is also a good idea to bring some kind of mosquito/bug repellent, more so for the summer months.
