Detached cottage in the heart of Milnthorpe
Stay in the delightful Pear Tree Cottage, a lovely, well-equipped detached cottage in Milnthorpe. A one bedroom bungalow, plus a double sofa bed. Pear Tree Cottage includes it's own garden, and is hidden away in the very centre of Milnthorpe - ideal for discovering the delights of the South Lakes and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the surrounding Milnthorpe, Arnside and Silverdale area. Great for walkers, cyclists, bird watchers, or for those who just want to relax. You'll have all of Pear Tree Cottage to yourself. I'll be available over messaging and text, and me or a family member are usually located nearby if you need any assistance :) Pear Tree Cottage is located in the very heart of Millnthorpe, tucked quietly just behind the main town square. You are steps away from a bustling community - including town shops, a health food store, various cafes, a legendary Indian restaurant (No 3 Curry House) and Chinese takeaway, 3 country pubs, a pharmacy and much more. On Friday's, walk out of the cottage and the square is turned into a local market with local food and drink. Speaking of food… Feeling fancy? L’Enclume, Simon Rogan’s 2** Michelin star restaurant, is in nearby Cartmel – just 20 minutes drive away. There’s also the delicious Beetham Nurseries garden cafe within walking distance, plus the Wheatsheaf which dates back to 1609. To name just a handful! Outside of the main square, you are just one minute walk away from the beautiful deer park. Head over there with your walking boots to have a lovely walk and see the deers relaxing. You are a few minutes drive away from the Arnside Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) - where there is ample walking to be had. Walk between country pubs around the coastline of Arnside and Silverdale. Drive just a little further, and you can easily reach the famous Lake District areas including Windermere, Bowness, Kendal, Ambleside, Grasmere and more. The adventure possibilities in the Lake District are limitless. You can park steps away from the cottage and I will include a free visitor parking permit for your use when here. On Thursday night (before the market on Friday's), you'll need to move your car to one side of the car park to avoid parking in the middle of the market! I explain where to park in your welcome pack. There is also loads of nearby free street parking. Public Transport options are ample: the nearest main train station is Oxenholme Lake District, and you can get a taxi from there to the cottage. Likewise, there are many buses which can take you to Lancaster, Kendal, Windermere, Keswick etc.
