Y Guddfan - The Hideaway. Modern two bedroom cottage sat on the western slopes of The Garth with views for miles. Ideal location for walkers and those looking for a quiet spot, but with easy access to Cardiff, the Brecon Beacons and the beaches of South Wales. Self contained cottage with its own entrances and amenities. Guests can also use the ‘meadow’ with its picnic table and views towards the Rhondda Valley. Master bedroom has a king size bed, with two single beds in the second bedroom. Sofa bed in the lounge. Contemporary lounge with wood burning stove (wood provided). TV with DVD player, BT TV box with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube. Bathroom with walk-in shower. A washing machine is located in the utility area. Parking in front of property. Drive up the driveway and through the gate and turn left towards Y Guddfan. Y Guddfan is on the west side of The Garth, Cardiff's highest point and best known as the inspiration behind the film ‘The Englishman who went up a hill but came down a mountain.’ The cottage is set between two villages - Pentyrch and Efail Isaf, both of which have local facilities including convenience stores, butcher, pharmacy and, of course, pubs. Each village is one mile from the property. Y Guddfan has it's own parking area for up to three cars. The cottage is accessed via a driveway that is shared with the owner's residence, Soar Cottage. The nearest railway is Taffs Well, a ten minute drive down the hill towards the River Taff. From Taffs Well the A470 takes you south into Cardiff city centre, or north up the Taff Valley towards Pontypridd and Brecon. The M4 runs east to west to the south of Pentyrch. Pentyrch and Efail Isaf both have regular bus services that head into Cardiff.
