The Chuparosa house offers a wonderful environment for couples with a romantic heart, nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts, or anyone who enjoys relaxing in nature. Our luxurious rooms have private entrance, private bath with kitchenettes and provide a lovely retreat from the outside world. A private patio adds to your enjoyment of the surrounding forest. The lush riparian environment provides the perfect habitat for over 200 species of birds. The property features an outdoor gas grille and patios. Our repeat guests tell us that a stay at the Chuparosa is like having your own cabin in the woods. The exterior entrance and patio make it easy for our guests to come and go as they please or just relax in nature. The common patios and secret garden are perfect places to soak up all that Madera Canyon has to offer whether you are reading a book, meditating, birding or just watching the world go by. Because your suite has a “mini-kitchenette” you can always prepare a favorite meal in your microwave or on the gas BBQ. Having a special dinner under our outdoor candelabra on the creekside patio is a guest favorite. The Chuparosa is 14.2 miles east of Interstate 19. As you exit the the freeway there will be signage directing you to Madera Canyon. The Chuparosa is easy to find because it is the last cabin on the right about 100 yards before the end of the road. We will be on property sometimes as will Diane, Gilbert and Tom who clean and do maintenance. We will be happy to assist you in any way when we are on property. The Canyon is a destination for birdwatchers, hikers and nature enthusiasts. There are only a few neighbors, so the setting is very tranquil. Our neighborhood is a little “Sky Island” in the Coronado National Forest of southern Arizona. The Chuparosa Inn is located 14.2 miles from Green Valley, AZ. We have free guest parking in front of the house and directly across the road. We do not have many neighbors as we live inside Madera Canyon Recreation Area. Being centrally located, you can really explore southern AZ. Guest’s mostly get around our neighborhood by foot on the many hiking trails that explore Madera Canyon and the Mt. Wrightson Wilderness. Parking at the Chuparosa is complimentary. There is an $8 per day fee to park in USFS lots within Madera Canyon Recreation Area.
