Ground floor apartment with shared swimming pool, close to a large sandy beach and the National Road. Idyllic location with amazing view of the sea and the magic landscape with its small villages. Spacious apartment with 73 m2 living area and a large veranda (22 m2) next to the pool. The bathroom has a practical and spacious walk-in-shower, a washing machine and hair dryer. The toilet is separate. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge with separate freezer, a coffee machine, an electric kettle, and a micro wave. Double glass windows combined with shutters and mosquito nets ensure a maximum of sleeping comfort and an enjoyable quality of holiday. The basic equipment includes also air conditioning, safety box, sat-TV, and electric iron. Wifi is free. The guests have acces to all facilities and have a private parking space (one for every apt.). The swimming pool is shared with possibly two other families. There are enough sunbeds for everyone and 2 BBQ's. Privacy is respected. We welcome our guests, hand over the key and show the apartment. We offer tips for excursions, shopping and taverna's. An information map with also more practical tips is available inside the apartment. Incase you need us, we are always in reach 24 on 24 hours because we live nearby. One of the largest sandy beaches in Crete is just a short drive away. The idyllic hillside location guarantees excellent peace and unique views of the sea and the magic landscape with its small villages. 1 km higher on the country road is the village where you can enjoy the famous Cretan diet in Maria's small taverna next to the church. Allthough in the middle of the authentic Cretan country side, this is also a central location. It is a less than 10 minutes drive to the National Highway with a very good connection to Rethymnon, Chania and the south coast (Sfakia, Plakias, Preveli, and the gorges of Samaria and Imbros). On 5 km distance is the wonderful Lake of Kournas, one of the most important ecotopes of Crete and part of the NATURA 2000 network. Kastellos is located close to the National Road (5km), the distance to Rethymnon is 20 km, to Chania 47 km, and Heraklion 100km. Nearby are the springs and archeological site of Argyroupolis (7 kms), and the beautiful fisher village of Georgioupolis (9 kms). A car is strongly recommended. Shopping facilities, taverna's, doctors and farmacy are located in the holiday resort Kavros (5kms). Doctors speak English and/or German.
