Our 3 Guest Suites on the upper floors of our Edwardian house in Surrey, are located opposite the beautiful Queens Park and close to beautiful walks and traditional country pubs. Our suites would suit someone who would like to visit London but retreat to a safe tranquil setting for a good night's sleep. It is also the perfect location for countryside staycations. Larger groups could book all three suites. They may also suit someone on work placements or in-between properties or visiting family All three of our suites are unique in their own very special way. Our attic suite has its own private staircase and front door. This suite has a quirky bedroom with a large double bed in the alcove between the window and the original Edwardian fireplace. On the other side of the fireplace is the original built in wardrobe plus extra hanging rail and small double sofa bed. The ensuite bathroom with full length bath and shower attachment is accessed from this room. The TV with Sky Network is also in this room. The second room is a little smaller and has a small single bed under the window. Also in this room there is a fridge which we stock up with a few essentials and some seasonal treats prior to guest arrival; there is also a microwave, a kettle, a toaster and a new very safe Aobosi induction Hob so guests can prepare snacks and simple meals in the privacy of their own space. Our second suite is on the middle floor of the house and has a large double bedroom with kingsize bed and ample storage units. The ensuite bathroom with bath and shower attachment is accessed from this room. The second room is a large living and working space with double sofa bed and computer table. This room also has the same appliances as in the attic suite. There is no TV in this suite but there is a large monitor if guests wish to attach it to one of their own devices. Our Netflix account is available to all guests staying in this suite if required. Beautiful views of Queens Park can be enjoyed from this room and garden views from the main bedroom. The third suite, also located on the middle floor is similar to the second suite but it has a walk- in shower instead of a bath. The second room in this suite also has a TV with Sky network and a large dining table and chairs for meals and / or to be used as a work station for staycation guests. Unfortunately the storage units in this suite are not available at this time so at the moment we are mainly making this suite available to larger groups in conjunction with one or both of the other suites. Our suites would suit guests wanting to stay in this area for a mini break in the summer months on a temporary basis but increasingly to longer staying guests on staycations. Our suites would suit two people (or three if one is a small child) for a longer stay but for larger family groups we would recommend the booking of two or even three of the suites. Pets are welcome but we may charge a pet supplement and an extra cleaning deposit depending on length of stay to all pet owners on arrival which we would refund or make deductions from depending on the condition of the space at the end of the stay. Due to Covid restrictions, we are unable to provide any shared areas or st this time but we will advise guests accordingly on anything they need during their stay. All our guests also have free high speed WiFi for the entire duration of their stay and free off-street parking if available. We are very flexible and are happy to provide guests with discounted rates for Monday to Friday rental for guests working in the area who would like to go back home at the weekend or even just weekends if guests are looking after elderly parents in the area or visiting children who they do not see during the week. Our suites have also attracted people in-between properties or those refurbishing their own homes and needing to find alternative accommodation over a period of several weeks. We are very flexible and always open to requests if Health and Safety and social distancing recommendations comply, so if what is written here does not really fit your criteria or price range then please contact us anyway as we may be able to assist. Guests access their suites via a communal front door, large hallway and one or two flights of stairs. At present guests are asked to limit their time in the entrance hall and staircase and to wear masks at all times until they are inside their own private suites. Surfaces and bannisters in this communal area are sanitized every day. There are hand sanitizer tables in the entrance hall and on the half landing. Antibacterial cleaner and kitchen towel is also available if guests would like to clean bannisters themselves on arrival. We live on the ground floor of this property ourselves most of the time, but we have our own separate front door. We are always happy to assist guests with anything they require in addition to what we provide but guests need to be aware that we are avoiding contact and interaction with guests at this time due to social distancing guidelines. This accommodation is located in a beautiful country area opposite a lovely park with a soft play area for children and tennis and badminton courts, cricket, grass bowls and croquet for sports enthusiasts. Whether these will be available when guests book will depend on social distancing guidelines and laws at that time. Caterham is a safe area to stay in and our neighbours are friendly and welcoming. London is less than an hour away by train so guests can visit it regularly should they wish to but returning to safe, leafy Caterham is something all our guests seem to enjoy. London is one of the world’s greatest capitals and as such it is a year round magnet for young and old alike but it can feel vast, crowded, daunting and expensive. By staying in Surrey, guests can save a considerable amount on hotel costs and still visit London daily. We would be very happy to advise guests on what there is to see and do in London at specific times of year, and in particular what is and is not open during this new Covid area. This area of Surrey has much to offer in its own right, especially during this era of social distancing and fresh air. There are wonderful walking trails in the north downs easily accessible from this accommodation. Within driving distance of Caterham are: Hever Castle, the ancestral home of the unfortunate Anne Boleyn, Chartwell, the family home of Winston Churchill, Leeds Castle with its magical towers, turrets and moat, the beautiful Chaldon Church and so much more. London is one of the world Capitals of Theatre, Musicals, Opera, Dance and Concerts to suit all tastes with a vast selection of restaurants to suit all budgets. You can have steak and ale pie and a pint of beer for a few pounds in any pub in the area or enjoy a world class English, Indian, Italian, French meal at one of the thousands of restaurants in and around London - all very competitively priced. Otherwise treat yourself to something a little special at one of the many Michelin Starred restaurants all over the capital. The weather in the South East of England can be very warm even hot in the summer months (from May to September) but the weather anywhere in England can be quite unreliable so people should always come prepared for rain. Spring and Autumn in Surrey are lovely; this area is known for its beautiful, colourful autumn walks; the north downs are spectacular in the autumn months. The many bluebell woods in the countryside in springtime are also spectacular. Winter can be very cold some years yet extremely mild in others. However, London's attractions are amazing whatever the weather and London in the Christmas season is truly magical. As for Christmas shopping, London cannot be beaten. As we are just a short drive from Brighton and other coastal towns, several of our guests have enjoyed day trips to the seaside in the summer months; perfect for socially distant seaside walks. We provide all guests with detailed information on this on arrival but suffice it to say that although Caterham is a quiet Surrey town with a village feel about it, it is less than an hour from Central London by train and just 15 minutes from Croydon To comply with present Covid recommendations, we would expect all guests to adhere to the advice given on the gov.uk website. At present this includes wearing masks when in the shared entrance area of the house and long stay guests should have regular lateral flow Covid tests which we would be able to provide on a weekly basis whilst they are here. This will ensure that our cleaners, any workmen coming in and guests themselves will be kept as safe as possible whilst they are staying in this property.
