Oyster Barn is a charming converted barn, nestled peacefully in the quiet Cotswold village of Naunton, located within the grounds of the owners’ property. The property is home to two well-presented bedrooms, sleeping up to four guests; the perfect retreat for you and your loved ones. Upon arrival at Oyster Barn, you are welcomed by two convenient parking spaces, as you unload your luggage through the delightful stable door, into the country-style kitchen that comes well-equipped with everything you need to cook up a delicious meal for your loved ones and retreat to the dining table to indulge in your meal and toast to a wonderful holiday that lies before you. Take the conversation through the Cotswold stone alcove and into the sitting room, which is a stylishly decorated, bright room with a wealth of character features, including a traditional wooden settle and a feature stone fireplace containing a warming woodburning stove, all complimented by contemporary furnishings such as a large Smart TV and DVD player, books and games for you to make use of for a fun-filled evening. Wooden French doors lead you out onto the open patio area at the front of the property or you can walk over to the fenced patio garden which is located just past the log store and is accessed up beautiful wooden steps, where you will find garden furniture, a barbecue to make use of in summer months and a lovely small grass area. When the evening gets colder, venture back inside and up to the first-floor where you will find the two well-presented bedrooms; bedroom one is a lovely eaves room, with striking exposed beams, where you can catch up on your favourite shows on the Freeview TV in your king-size bed before heading to the en-suite for a well-earned, relaxing soak in the freestanding bath. Bedroom two, also a lovely eaves room, has eye-catching exposed beams, and a king-size bed (zip/link, can be twin on request) from which you can watch a film on the mounted TV. In the morning, head to the wet room for an invigorating rinse in the walk-in shower before getting ready to explore the local surroundings for the day. You are ideally placed to explore the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds, with the centre of Naunton right on your doorstep, with the River Windrush flowing through the village which is set in a ‘bowl’ within the scenic Cotswold hills. Nearby, you will find The Black Horse Inn which has a pleasant ambience and offers home-made, locally sourced food and lovely drinks, or you can engage in a challenging game of golf at Naunton Downs Gold Club, to show of your swing skills. Head over to the much-loved Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the River Windrush, which boasts a variety of popular shops and attractions such as Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection and The Model Village – Bourton-on-the-Water in model form, fun days out for all! Greystones Farm & Nature Reserve is home to wildflower meadows and a working organic farm; offering time out from the hustle and bustle of the village centre, this reserve is open to public all year round. For a touch of history, head to Stow-on-the-Wold, and take a walk around the market square where you will find the town stock at one end which dates back to the 15th Century and is shaded by an old Elm Tree or take a stroll over to St Edward’s Parish Church where you will find the enchanting looking tree surrounded doorway, finish off with refreshing tipple at The Old Stocks Inn. Cheltenham is just under a 30-minute drive from Oyster Barn and has a wealth of activities including the art deco Lido at Sanford Park which is a must during summer months, offering two heated outdoor pools, and many entertainment venues including the Town Hall, the Everyman Theatre, The Playhouse, Cheltenham Racecourse and The Bacon Theatre, as well as Pittville Park which is the city's largest ornamental park that includes playgrounds, a boating lake and an aviary. Choose Oyster Barn for your trip to the Cotswolds, you will not be disappointed! Naunton is positioned on either sides of the River Windrush, making it very picturesque as any of its neighbours in the hills between Stow and Cheltenham. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book as Niwetone. The hill overlooking the town is great for climbing up and viewing the church and the village. The Black Horse Inn is the local pub which provides great views into the heart of the Cotswolds.
