Guest House in South Italy Airbnb
In the charming secluded town of Lauro, nestled at the end a wooded valley 40mins inland from Naples, the Amafi coast, Pompei and other cultural cities. Tranquil abode in uncontaminated setting from which to visit the south. The Outhouse The manor, built in the mid nineteenth century, shoulders the medieval castle of the Lancellotti that dominates the old town center. The guest house, separated from the villa by a paved courtyard, gives onto a verdant garden shaded by tall trees; there is also a natural rock pool. Beyond the garden and the rooftops there is a view across the valley towards the steep rise of a mountain range. Even though the residence is a stone’s throw from the central square, it is a realm of tranquility without any through traffic and the faint murmur from the piazza below is hardly audible over the birdsong. The outhouse is open plan with two separate sleeping areas in the mezzanine. Outside looking onto the garden, there is a patio ideal for enjoying your meals a plein air. A perfect retreat for alternating days of relaxation with busy sightseeing and cultural tours. About the Town Lauro is a hillside town 15 min inland from the A1 motorway (Nola) which in turn is a half hour drive from Naples with its international airport. The Amalfi coast and other major cities are also within less than an hour’s drive with all they have to offer in terms of art, archeological sites and pleasurable pastimes. Travelling east from Lauro through the Appenine mountains you can reach Avellino in 20 min and the wild Irpinia with its national parks. Matera and the region of Puglia are a further hour’s travelling. Undoubtedly Lauro is in a strategic position for who is wanting to visit places of interest in southern Italy. In the fine season the town attracts visitors thanks to its castle ( with a series of cultural events within the castle's premises ), the museum dedicated to Umberto Nobile (transpolar aerostat expedition), the ruins of a Roman villa and because of its natural setting which favors a mild and cooler climate, a refuge from the summer heat.
