On your way to Vlieland or Terschelling? Then it is wonderful to relax beforehand in the Blauwe Doffer and start your crossing without stress! The Blauwe Doffer is a detached holiday home. Small but beautiful. The ground floor is furnished as a dining kitchen and sitting room. The kitchen is fully furnished and equipped with, among other things: refrigerator, induction hob, extractor, bread oven, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and a dishwasher. Coffee cups and tea are provided. On the first floor is a double bedroom and the bathroom with shower and toilet. On the second floor is a slightly larger double bedroom. There is free WIFI in the entire house. Harlingen is easily accessible for everyone. It is part of various cycling routes, such as the Elfstedentocht. The city is also easily accessible for motorists via the A7 and N31. Public transport facilities are excellent here. There are sufficient boarding places for bus transport. There is a train station with also a stop near the ferry terminal and the harbors near the center. Both locations are approximately a five minute walk from/to the Blauwe Doffer. Paid parking applies throughout Harlingen. Several large parking spaces are available outside the center. Harlingen is the only city of the eleven Frisian cities with direct access to the sea. Harlingen therefore has a rich maritime past. The Dutch Admiralty was located here for a long time and from Harlingen trade was conducted all over the world. Especially in the old town with its many monumental buildings, evidence of this can still be found. Explore the streets and alleys with beautiful monumental buildings. Imagine yourself back in time! Although Amsterdam and Rotterdam have taken over that important maritime position from Harlingen over the centuries, there is still that connection with the sea. The fishing and industrial port is located in the northwest of the city. The "old" harbors can be found on the west side of the city, closer to and in the old center. The historical "brown fleet" and pleasure craft are mainly active in these ports. It is wonderful to walk along those inland ports with an ever-changing view of the city and the water due to the tide. Harlingen is of course also the place where visitors to Terschelling or Vlieland board the ferry. In Harlingen there is a wide range of cozy bars and fine restaurants. In the middle of the city or along one of the harbours, there is always a cozy terrace where you can recover from all the impressions. Harlingen is certainly also an excellent starting location for day trips by bike through the beautiful Frisian hinterland. The Blauwe Doffer is equipped for a maximum of four people. Due to stairs, the space is not or less suitable for people with serious physical limitations. You book for a minimum of two nights. When booking you will have access to the entire house. The rate per night applies to a maximum of two people. For extra guests (maximum 2) a surcharge of E 15.00 p.p.p.n. will be charged.
