The property is opposite the Torrs with it's beautiful river and woodlands and footpaths leading to Hayfield and Whaley Bridge. Hayfield is the perfect location for access to Kinder Scout. There are two railway stations in New Mills, both are a ten to fifteen minute walk from the property and have links to Stockport, Sheffield, Buxton and Manchester. The town is a five minute walk from the house and has a wide range of independent shops and cafes including a small market on Fridays and Saturdays. Access to the Peak Forest Canal is a five minute walk away. The towpath is ideal for walking and cycling and will take you to Whaley Bridge, Disley, Marple and into Manchester. Boat trips are available from the Whaley Bridge marina. You can access the fells directly from the property, maps and guides are available for your perusal. Also, Swizzels sweet factory is a must, even if only to walk past it on the canal towpath and inhale the sweet smell of lovehearts!
