Gorgeous Chalet on Cable Lake near Spooner

Welcome to the Whistling Turtle! Bring your whole family, or gather as a group of couples or friends, and enjoy this lovely, spacious chalet on a small, peaceful lake just minutes from Spooner. Our lake home has four spacious bedrooms and a loft, and sleeps up to 15 people. The moment you drive through the towering pine trees and pull up to the gorgeous log home, you will be enchanted by this quiet and family-friendly place. You will find plenty of amenities for a fantastic lakeside vacation. Relax in the comfortable living room as you look out towards the lake, prepare a home-cooked meal in the fully stocked kitchen, hide away in the beautifully decorated bedrooms with comfortable beds, play games in the sprawling yard, and enjoy a movie in the 1930s-inspired theater room. Glimpse a sunrise at the lakeshore, catch pan fish off the dock, enjoy an outdoor fire, and relax and chat under the pines while your kids play in the sand at the clear water’s edge. In the warm months, bring your own boat, kayak, or canoe, or enjoy tooling around the lake in our fun paddle boats. Our lake is small but fully recreational. In the cooler months, come for autumn colors and ATV rides, celebrate the holidays in a warm and spacious lakehouse, or make this chalet your home-base for snowmobiling and ice fishing. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, and you can relish being out in nature, while at the same time being close to town. Our chalet sits on nearly three acres, which include a well-kept yard, a garden area, a wooded area, and the lakeshore. While a few things, including the pole barn, are not open to guests, you are free to roam the rest of the property. The chalet is a two-story house with a basement, so be aware that there are stairs to navigate. With an open concept design, the chalet has two bedrooms and two bathrooms off the living room on the main floor, and two bedrooms, one bathroom, and the loft on the second floor. The Whistling Turtle is about 10 minutes from downtown Spooner, which has quaint shops, a variety of restaurants, cozy coffee houses, a brewpub, churches, activities, and a large grocery store; about 10 minutes from the Namekagon River (canoe rentals in Trego); and about 30 minutes from Hayward. The Whistling Turtle is close to the miles and miles of beautiful and well-kept ATV trails and snowmobile trails of Washburn County (so bring your toys and enjoy the trails). With such a fantastic location, you will have plenty to occupy you in the area, but you may even want to take a day trip up to Lake Superior, which is a little over an hour north.
