Swallow Cottage, a cosy, Country Retreet

Swallow Cottage is a charming, secluded rural retreat set within easy reach of Ripon and Harrogate. Swallow Cottage is a self contained private property with its own facilities and outdoor space. Swallow Cottage has been recently redecorated and benefits from a good sized, open plan living space and a well appointed kitchen. The living room has a recently fitted wood burning stove. A large double bedroom with ensuite bathroom has been recently furnished with cream and oak furniture, including a dressing table with a mirror and plenty of storage space for clothing in a wardrobe and drawers. The bathroom has a shower and a drawer unit for storing cosmetics and toiletries. After a day out exploring the local area there is a large leather sofa to relax on by the fire and a breakfast bar with high stools where you can enjoy a glass of wine or one of our local Masham beers. Based only 2 miles from Ripon and 8 miles from Harrogate with many of the attractions of North Yorkshire and the Dales within easy reach. Bishop Monkton and its lovely local pub which serves superb food is only a mile down the road. Nestled amongst the outbuildings of a small farm, the cottage benefits from a sheltered position with lovely countryside surroundings. Deer often pass through the adjoining farm fields which are used for horses and sheep. There is an abundance of local footpaths and cycle ways close by and the cottage is close to all the untouched beauty of North Yorkshire. My name is Gail and I am the owner of Moor End Farm and Swallow Cottage. I absolutely love being a host and, while I like to give my guests privacy and space, I conveniently live on site in the farm house so I can be of assistance whenever needed. We have recently moved from a farm in Leeds to Ripon and we have been blown away by the friendliness of the local people and the beauty of the surrounding area. Swallow Cottage is conveniently set just 2 miles South of the Cathedral City of Ripon. Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Deer Park are only a short distance away. Ripon has a market on Thursdays and there is a broad diversity of shops and restaurants to keep you busy as well as several museums. Harrogate can easily be reached via bus or taxi and many hours can be enjoyed visiting the world famous Bettys Tea Rooms, the Spa Baths and the multitude of high class shops and restaurants. We have an additional single bed that can be set up on request. Horses are an additional £20 each per night which is payable on arrival. This includes a large stable with shavings bed and top quality hay. I have over 40 years of equestrian experience.
