Four season relaxing retreat for the whole family in a peaceful and remote location. A cozy old farmhouse with breathtaking valley views in the fall, spring, summer and winter. The perfect destination for an active or relaxing holiday. The house is situated on a 2.4 acre lot that is backed by a local conservation area. The open floor plan of the main level is surrounded by windows and great for entertaining and being together. On the main floor is the kitchen, dining room, a big washroom and two living rooms, one that we refer to as the “sunroom” and another we call the “snug” with a pellet stove and TV. The sunroom or the snug can also work as a fourth bedroom, with the option of a pullout sofa bed in one and a single sofa bed in the other. The second level has three minimalist bedrooms with double beds and a washroom. In the summer the grounds have hammocks, and a sports field for guests to enjoy, outdoor furniture and a fire pit. This accommodation includes the entire house, with the exception of the locked storage area in the basement. The barn is off limits due to safety. Parking is available on site with a circular driveway surrounding the property. The property is gated and we ask guests to keep the gate open in winter months so the local farmer can plow the drive. I am always available on the Air BnB messenger app and provide my mobile number for emergency contact Cycle Grey County roads, downhill ski the slopes of Beaver Valley, canoe or paddle board in the nearby lakes, cross country ski at the local trails, or hike the numerous branches of the Bruce Trail and see the waterfalls within minutes of the house. A great place to bring bicycles and explore the nearby towns with local bakeries, shops and galleries. Visit Duncan Caves a short drive or bicycle ride away. Bring bathing suits to dunk into the Beaver River, Hogg’s Falls or visit nearby Eugenia beach and Irish Lake. Conservation area with trails - access from back yard Beaver Valley Ski Resort (down hill)- 3 minute drive Beaver Valley Nordic Trails Ski Resort - 3 minute drive The Keg Chalet (top of slopes) - 3 minute drive / 20 minute walk Beaver Look Out - 7 minute drive Hoggs Falls - 8 minute drive Eugenia Beach - 13 minute drive Eugenia Lake - 15 minute drive Blue Mountain Ski Resort - 27 minute drive Scandinavian Spa - 30 minute Drive Guest will need a car and ideally an SUV or truck in the winter months when there is snow. The property is in the valleys and has a downhill driveway. We are on septic and the water is from a well. We ask our guests to be mindful of flushing (seperate bins are provided for toilet paper and sanitary waste) and manage with reasonable water use. The house is located in a rural community that feels secluded but with neighboring properties, please be respectful. To enter the main house guests will need to be able to walk up a small flight of stairs In winter months a four wheel drive is recommended to access the property as the driveway is on a slope. Snow removal is managed by the local farmer. If you are coming for skiing there are several resorts near us. Beaver Valley Ski Resort (down hill) which is a 3 minute drive away and a members only club. Beaver Valley Nordic Trails Ski Resort (cross country, snowshoeing, snowmobiles and hiking) which is also a 3 minute drive and is open to the public and offers day passes to non members and Blue Mountain Ski Resort (down hill) which is a 27 minute drive away and open to the public. There is a small pond surround by big rocks on the property, children must be accompanied at all times when exploring the 2 acre lot. In the winter, depending on snowfall, the visibility of the pond from a distance can be reduced.
