The Old Bakehouse

A beautiful character property that used to be a flour mill for the surrounding area and also the local bakery. Built in the 1830's and grade 2 listed, it has been lovingly renovated to a very high standard. It offers a lawned garden area with BBQ, sun loungers and patio. There are some beautiful coastal towns, stunning, sandy beaches and castles within half an hour to one hours drive of the property; good local pubs, which serve great food and are dog friendly too. The property is based in the heart of the village with far reaching views of the valley within Capel Dewi. The garden area is beautifully landscaped and offers large patio table and chairs along with sun loungers and use of the decked area. We also have a large Hot Tub on the decking covered for guests to enjoy. The decking, adjoining grass areas are open for all guests. The surrounding area has many country walks. There is also a fantastic river not far that is great for fishing as well as Kayaking. We can provide the details for the local kayak club which is based in Llandysul which also offers great day out activities for children. During your stay I am always contactable via phone and email but I also have friends nearby that help me manage the property and will take care of any maintenance issues should they arise. There is a village, volunteer run, award winning shop is just next to the church and is great for all the essentials, as well as offering the best home made pies, cakes, dairy, eggs and fresh meat produce that is always locally sourced and very reasonably priced. You can always ask about what local activities are happening while in the shop because they are informed of all the local events in the surrounding areas and the staff are all local people who kindly volunteer their time to run the shop for everyone’s benefit. You really need to have your own vehicle in this village because it’s a rural area. There is a taxi service available though and a limited bus service, which needs to be booked in advance. Bicycles may be hired from a local farm at a price of £20 per day, including all the necessary kit; helmets, puncture repairs etc There are two parking spaces on the driveway outside the property. However, there is also plenty of space to park other vehicles in the village square which is a two minute walk away. It is important you bring your own towels for both inside and outside use. We do recommend separate towels when using the hot tub as it is chlorinated.
