Maroubra Garden Apartment is conveniently positioned so you can experience nine of Sydney's stunning beaches and other tourist hot spots all while being a short distance from the airport (25min drive). A note on cleaning - we follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights: - Sanitising high touch surfaces from light switches, door knobs down to the keys - Using fresh cleaning cloths/gloves in each room to help prevent cross contamination - Providing extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay - Continuing to wash bath towels and bed linen in line with government health guidelines for hotels Maroubra Garden Apartment is a private and cozy studio apartment perfectly suited to couples or singles. Within walking distance is the beautiful Maroubra Beach, coastal trails, cafes, shopping centres. Buses to Sydney City, Circular Quay, Central Station and the University of NSW (UNSW) also run frequently, with bus stops located within 5 minutes walk. The apartment is located on a quiet tree lined street and situated on the lower ground floor of a recently built house, which the hosts live in. The entrance is private, and accessible via a pathway that runs parallel to the house (with two steps). The only shared space is the grassed area of the back yard. Self check-in is offered for convenience. Un-timed, free on-street parking is also available. We provide a limited supply of coffee capsules for the Nespresso machine, tea, olive oil, salt, pepper, soap, shampoo, conditioner and laundry detergent. Bath towels, robes, beach towels and bed linen are also provided. Additionally, two adult Taronga Zoo passes are typically available (save up to $94). Please check availability of the passes with us in advance. The apartment layout and features include: MAIN ROOM (bed/lounge room) - Queen bed with two types of pillows (firm/high and medium) and organic cotton sheets. A non feather duvet is available upon request. Bed side tables with bright reading lights and induction phone chargers. - Flat screen TV (HDMI cable provided), Apple TV (Netflix, Prime or Stan included), DVD player (selection of DVDs provided) and Bluetooth BOSE speaker - Lounge chairs - Desk with computer monitor (HDMI and VGA cables provided), keyboard, mouse, USB chargers and LED desk lamp - Full length mirror - Air conditioning and a fan. All doors and windows also have fly screens. KITCHEN - Full-sized fridge/freezer - Nespresso coffee machine, single induction stove top, microwave, toaster, kettle, rice cooker - Dining table - Cutlery, plates, bowls, mugs and glasses - Clothes washing machine and clothes airer. BATHROOM - Shower - Toilet - Hair dryer. OUTDOOR AREA - Grassed backyard (shared) - Covered dining area with table and chairs. Maroubra is known for its surf, safe swimming areas, cafes and restaurants. Unlike nearby beaches, Coogee and Bondi, Maroubra offers the beach lifestyle without the hustle, bustle and touristy feel. To us, Maroubra feels very Australian. It is relaxed and not at all pretentious. A short bus trip away are other beaches: Malabar, Little Bay, Coogee, Yarra Bay and Little Congwong (nudist). Near Yarra Bay and Little Congwong Beach is Bare Island Fort ($15 tours available), adhoc 'Blak Markets', which feature local Aboriginal Art and the locally renowned Snake Man of La Perouse (free volunteer reptile show at 1:30pm Sundays and public holidays). You could easily spend a relaxing 3-4 days seeing the local area. Maroubra's demographic is diverse, with a mix of families, young professionals and older workers/retirees. You will also notice a multicultural mix of Greek, Asian, Italian, Russian and Italian nationalities. There is also a growing gay and French community. Within a 5 minute walk are bus stops that have late running services to/from the city/Circular Quay/Central Station and other beaches. The bus to/from Sydney Airport is a 10 minute walk away. Travel Durations: - Maroubra Beach (beach cafes and restaurants): 15 minute walk (3 min bus). - Maroubra Junction (restaurants, shops, cafes, hair dressers): 8-10 minute walk. - City, Circular Quay and Central Station: Bus 40-60 minutes (there are express, Limited stop and all-stops bus options). - Sydney Domestic and International Airports: Car/Uber 20-40 minutes, bus 60 minutes. - UNSW and NIDA: Car/Uber 10 minutes, bus 20 minutes. - Prince of Wales Hospital (POW): Car/Uber 15 minutes, bus 20-30 minutes - Bondi Junction: Car/Uber 20-30 minutes, bus 30-40 minutes. Sydney has a number of bike share hire options. The bikes are currently dockless, so they can be picked up and ridden anywhere. From time to time a small and friendly Cavoodle dog stays in the main house and may play in the back yard. You're welcome to pat and play with the dog.
