Tapping each photo will display info in the captions. Read each caption for parking & suite details. Your guest suite has a king memory foam mattress, flannel sheets, down filled duvet. It’s in the light-filled walk-out basement of our home on a quiet dead-end lane on a bluff above The Ohio River & historic Blennerhassett Island. George Washington once owned the heights & the island. History, natural beauty, food, parks, trails & waterways all are close-by. Park your boat in our lane for free. Our Blennerhassett Heights guest suite is 18 minutes off I77, is a beautiful 2 hour drive from Columbus, Ohio on Route 33, and just half hour drive from Athens, Ohio (and Old Mans Cave.) We are 2 hours to Charleston, WV and Wheeling WV and a five minute drive to parking for the boat ride to Blennerhassett Island. See our guest book for tips about purchasing tickets and tours for the island as well as other great nearby places to visit. We want your guest suite to provide you with comfort whether you’re passing through or staying for a while. There are many public launch sites for speed boat or kayak. I can recommend my favorite kayak launch sites. If you bring a boat please let me know so I can recommend where to park while staying here. Tapping each photo will display info in the captions. Please read each caption for details about parking and access into your guest suite. Your dog is welcome, but please know our yard is not fenced. The neighborhood, however is a great place to take a walk. Just remember to pick up after them. While I love meeting and talking with guests, I’m also aware that some guests prefer space. As an avid Airbnb user I prefer the quiet kind of host so I will stay out of your way. But as a gardener and master naturalist I can’t promise we don’t run into each other in the yard. My goal for this property is to attract pollinators and wildlife and sharing the beauty of nature and solitude with friends from around the globe. You will probably at some point be greeted by Frank the cat. Both he and Stella the cat may ask to be let into your guest suite. They love to walk in so they can walk out again. Feel free to welcome them in or ignore them. Let me know if I need to rescue you from their affection. Occasionally, day and night, a train at the base of our hill sounds its horn. To block the noise I recommend running the provided fan in your guest suite. Please read captions on each photo for best source of information. Three other houses share our cul de sac. On the ridge above our home are four sets of condominiums and down the hill below us is the Ohio River and the CXS Railroad, which is loud when the train whistle blows. Otherwise the river and the neighbors are very quiet. Occasionally you’ll hear the volunteer fire department sirens too. You will need a car. Uber is available in the area, but no public transportation. Public boat launches are within five miles, but you can park your boat in front of our house in the quiet lane when you’re not using it.
