Black Forest Haus, Enchanting mountain destination

Enchanting, hillside 4 bedroom chalet nestled in the Catskills with a view of Eagle Mt. & Esopus Creek. House and grounds are a destination all on their own, and also near Belleayre, restaurants, etc. Hiking- Slide and Giant Ledge are just down the road and Full Moon is a 2 min. drive. Outfitted with authentic Bavarian decor, the main house sleeps 7-8 with 2 full baths and 2 fireplaces. 5-acre grounds feature Wi-Fi throughout, Sonos speakers, firepit, chiminea and 3-season Writer's Cabin. Enjoy an evening beverage in the Tavern Room, the high speed wifi throughout the property, or connect to Sonos speakers throughout the first floor of the home and on the deck and listen to your favorite music. Admire our collection of 24 beer steins and find all 26 gnomes throughout the property. Brew the best cup of coffee you've ever had with our new grind and brew Cuisinart coffee maker while watching the hummingbirds on the deck or listen to the small waterfall while having s’mores by the firepit. Behind the chalet, up on the hillside, you will find the 3-season Writers' Cabin, perfect for a quiet place to relax. The Writer's Cabin has electricity, but no heat or water. There is a futon that folds out into a full size bed for a quiet nap. There's also a drafting table by the window, and space for yoga or meditation. Go skiing 10 minutes away or try snowshoeing on the miles and miles of nearby trails. You can rent snowshoes at Belleayre Mountain, minutes away or go to one of the amazing local restaurant for a drink or a meal. The house is equipped with central AC and a generator, Apple TV, games, puzzles and DVDs. This home can sleep 8, but more comfortably 6-7. There is one large bedroom downstairs and 3 bedrooms upstairs. Two of the upstairs bedrooms are very small (see pictures). The upstairs corner bedroom has a daybed and a roll out trundle which serve as the 7th and 8th beds. Please note, this listing is not suitable for parties, children or pets at this time. Please note, must use a 4WD vehicle in Dec. to March. Driveway is steep and can get icy. During your stay if you need anything at all, we will be available to answer questions and support. Black Forest Haus is located in the scenic Oliverea Valley along a winding road with two spots to have a drink or dinner within walking distance, Urban Cowboy and Slide Mountain Forest House. Also, very close to Full Moon Resort, Belleayre Mountain, Slide Mountain and Giant Ledge trailheads. Phoenicia is 15 minutes away and Margaretville is 22 minutes away. So much to explore! Great restaurants, tubing, fishing, golfing, spas, antiquing and hunting all within 20 minutes. There's room for 3-4 cars to park in the driveway. The driveway is on a steep hill. If it's snowy only all wheel drive vehicles should consider using the driveway. If it is icy no vehicles should use the driveway. There is a pull out across the street where 3-4 cars can park instead. The chalet was built in 1936 and with that comes with both charm and character. The upstairs bedrooms have sloping ceilings (see pictures). Like many homes in the country, occasionally a field mouse or a garden insect may enter the home. The property has high speed wifi, but no cell phone service. Turn on your phone's "wifi calling" to make and receive calls as usual. This listing is suitable for no more than 8 guests.
