Self contained Annex in an idyllic rural location.

Meadow Wood annex is on the outskirts of Combe Florey, a pretty conservation village at the foot of the Quantock Hills. It is a small self contained annex with parking and its own entrance, set in an idyllic position surrounded by fields and woodlands in glorious walking country. It comprises of a Kitchen/diner, bedroom (with room for a travel cot) and a bathroom. A thatched 15th century village pub, serving local ales and excellent food, is only 5 minutes walk alongside a babbling brook. We are a retired couple so will normally be available to greet our guests, answer questions and give any help that might be required. There is a huge amount to do in the Combe Florey area, the village of Bishops Lydeard is 2 miles away with a range of Pubs, cafes, shops, Cedar Falls health farm and spa and the steam railway. Taunton, the County town of Somerset is 6 miles away and has a good range of shops, parks, a museum, mainline station and County Cricket . Exmoor and the Somerset coast are nearby. Bath, Wells, Bristol and Exeter are within easy reach. Several National Trust properties, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Lynton and Lynmouth, the Valley of the Rocks, Tarr steps, Watersmeet and Rosemoor and Bickleigh gardens are all about an hours drive away. Combe Florey is on the Taunton to Minehead bus route with buses every 30 minutes. There is a mainline train station 6 miles away in Taunton, with regular trains to Bath , Bristol, London, Exeter and beyond. The West Somerset Steam railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead passes Combe Florey and the steam trains can be seen from the annex, the nearest station is 2 miles away at Bishops Lydeard. There are wonderful walks around the area and on the Quantock hills, the nearest footpath passes Meadow Wood.
