Pattys Condo on the Lake - Kelleys Island, Ohio

2nd level compact garage attic converted to condo with some angled ceilings (Lloyd’s lpoptional use of stairlift from deck, if owner notified beforehand, it can be made ready to use…3 steps to deck). Perfect for 2 people with separate entrance. Shared screened-in Patio with amazing lakefront view. Owner lives below in separate apartment. Basic Amazon prime available (i.e. internet TV only) (Note: Prices INCLUDE state and local bed tax of 6% Offers one bedroom, which is just the right size for a single person or a couple with one double bed. Great view from the shared screened in porch on entry deck level! There is a counter stove top for cooking but no hood vent or oven (also microwave), no grill on premises FYI Access to whole condo and shared screened in porch. I am usually quite busy throughout the day but I check my texts periodically and will respond when I am available. Condo is located on a Lovely Corner Lot on the southeast side of island with an amazing view of lake and on a clear day, a beautiful view of Cedar Point. CP fireworks can be seen from the private beach, (shhhh, don't tell anyone or it won't be private long). 7 min drive to downtown but a nice long walk or golf cart drive as well. Downtown has several Restaurants/Bars, Shops, several gas or quiet/clean electric golf cart rentals, small grocery store (Island Market) for essentials of foods, cigarettes, beer/wine, ice (Caddy Shack Square offers 18 hole old-fashioned Putt-Putt, Gem Mining Station and Rock Shop, coffee shop / bakery, pizza/sub restaurant/bar, tiki bar and grill, souvenir shopping, tie-dye clothing shop, Wellness Center (for that much deserved Massage, Reiki or Acupuncture treatment), ice cream shoppe, electric golf carts and bicycle rental). Outside of downtown Kelleys Island also offers a sand beach, state park campground / boat ramp, stone/pebble beach, microbrewery, and winery several state park hiking trails. Taxi and prearranged fishing charter services. The islands historical offerings are Glacial Grooves left by ice age and Inscription (rock carvings from possible Native American Indians who inhabited island at one point in history). Kelleys Island also hosts the Charles Herndon Gallery and his art and amazing rock sculptures. Appx. 5-7 min. drive to downtown. Car ferry leaves from Marblehead, Ohio (kel (Website hidden by Airbnb) (app 25-30 min ride). Jet-Express Passenger Ferry ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) leaves from Sandusky, Ohio (15-20 min ride) every few hours. Service tapers off at beginning and end of season with weekends Memorial to Labor Day. Please check schedules for up-to-date info. Most visitors and islanders use bikes or golf carts on the road for transportation (2, 4 or 6 passenger are most commonly available for rent). Cruiser Bicycles are another mode and can be rented. Parking is somewhat limited in the downtown area, so walking is another option. Note: walkways are narrow and uneven in some areas and roads do not have bike lanes.Bicyclers are instructed to ride in single file while on the roads. Jet Express Ferry service offers transportation to Put-in-Bay (another island nearby) and Sandusky, and may offer trips to Cedar Point Amusement Park on limited schedules. Please check with individual ferries for up-to-date schedules as they sometimes change year to year. Air service from Griffing Flying Service in Port Clinton, Ohio There is a police department downtown and Fire/EMTs are all volunteer. In emergencies, helicopter/Lifeflight to Toledo is employed. Please note: There are 3 steps and wooden handrail to reach deck and entrance door. Full flight of stairs to your upstairs apartment. Stairlift from deck to 2nd level currently disabled but can be engaged with prior notice for handicap assistance. One split A/C unit in the living space cools the whole apartment well but bedroom door needs to stay open to reach bedroom efficiently and fan provided to direct air. A/C will be off when you arrive unless arrangements are made ahead and may take 30 min to cool the whole place down on a hot day, so a good time to take a tour of the island or catch a bite to eat after dropping your things off. Ceilings are 7’ high and some ceilings are slopes, because was converted attic so not optimal for really tall people, fyi No parties or events NO SMOKING inside home Children under 21 would need to be supervised No Animals/Pets Self check-in with keypad (request code before your visit for smooth transition) Stone/Rock beach out front of house (next door dock not included) Owner lives below in lower garage apartment. Noise level must be kept reasonable so as not to bother neighbors at any time. Cell phone service on the island is a bit of a challenge. However, some people like the disconnection from the rest of the world ;) Note: ATT seems to be the best option, Verizon is complained about a lot fyi Internet only TV via fire stick. Basic Amazon prime available. For more options please contact your cable company ahead so you can access your favorite channels through fire stick apps. Windows/doors need to be closed (locked as well to protect valuables) when not in the house in case of unexpected rain which can damage interior. Update: I have a keurig coffee maker now and usually stocked with 4 pods, feel free to bring your own pods if you need more or have a favorite. ( I usually keep an extra drip coffee maker that I can switch out if I know ahead, but you will need to bring your own coffee fyi )
